Hi, I'm Edvinas and I like to solve mechanical problems.
I'm Southern Denmark University (SDU) mechatronics course 5’th semester student and have strong education background in material science, selecting the correct mechanical components for prototypes, CAD design, engineering approach to problem solving programming. I have practical experience building functional prototype robots that can climb ropes, autonomous pallet movers and autonomous beach cleaning robot prototypes.
I enjoy creating 2D and 3D design CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX and other graphical software and to make physical 3D drawing examples.
Few of my latest examples I worked on are shown in my Portfolio page.
The aim of this project was to build a functional, autonomous robots which could be used to filter out microplastics as small as 5 micros found in the sand. In order to achieve it robot had to be designed using modelling software, robotic parts created using 3D drawing software like “Siemens NX” and printed using industrial 3D printers. After all parts have been created, robot was assembled and tested in real life environment.
On 27th of February, 2020 our robot was presented to the Danish Prime minister Mette Frederiksen (S) when she visited University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Sønderborg, Denmark.
Most robots are designed to move, jump or a placed to a fixed surface. You will rarely find autonomous climbing robot. I worked with the team to create a “Rope climbing robot” which would be able to move vertically up and down on a various length string.
One of the biggest challenges was to design a grip mechanism which would be light and flexible, but also to provide a grip.
I enjoy creating 2D and 3D design CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX and other graphical software and to make physical 3D drawing examples.
I create CAD drawings from your marked-up plans, sketches or original paper documents.
